INTERVIEW with the FairyWoman
September, 2004
About what are you most passionate?
I am most passionate about my spirituality (which keeps me sane), reading, drumming, nighttime, and conversation.
What are three of your BEST life-skills?
Finding new adventures and unique experiences
Creating a peaceful, beautiful home environment
Continuing to expand my knowledge and awareness
Other than your parents, who has been the most influential person in your life and why?
The "most influential person" in my life is the one from whom I can learn and grow. Many different people have been in that position over the years.
What are the THREE things for which you are MOST thankful?
my spirituality
my friends
diversity/variety
Other than your appearance, what is the first thing that people notice about you?
Without being in their shoes, of course, I would think most people would notice that I am a good listener. I am warm and friendly when meeting new people, but I am also slightly shy and purposefully reserved. One learns more by listening than by talking, and listening enables me to feel the "vibes" surrounding a person, which in turn will determine what I wish to reveal about myself as well as how I will reveal those things. (Moon in Scorpio, what else can I say? *giggle*) So, yes, I am a good listener, not just at first meeting, but most other times, too.
What is the ONE thing that people DON'T notice about you right away that you WISH they WOULD?
I sometimes wish people would realize that everything I do has a purpose. Very little about me, or the world around me, is happenstance. There is careful thought behind the placement of everything in my apartment, the selection of jewelry that I wear on any particular day, or the order in which I do things. I do have the potential for spontaneity on occasion, however. Break my code and you will find a method to my proverbial madness!
How do you typically spend your leisure time?
My free time is usually spent reading, surfing the Web, tinkering with my own Web pages, drumming (djembe-style drums, played with the hands, not sticks), napping, or aimlessly driving around the city at night.
Describe the last book that you read and enjoyed. What was it about? What did you like most about it?
I enjoy almost all the books I read, because I have a sincere passion for learning. Although I mostly read non-fiction, the last book I read completely, cover-to-cover, was The DaVinci Code, an engaging, "whodunit" mystery story. Despite being a work of fiction, it is based on substantial historical fact, which can be corroborated through other sources (despite what the critics say). In a nutshell, it unveils the true meaning of the Holy Grail, and how it has purposefully been hidden for centuries by certain persons greedy for power. Since my spirituality involves the Holy Grail in a sense, the book spoke to my heart and my soul.
Describe one thing about yourself that only your best friends know.
Although some of the information about me here might make me seem like a dull, serious-minded, boring bookworm, I basically have a warm, bubbly personality and I am not afraid of exploring the kinky side of life.
What are the most important qualities that you look for in potential partner?
LOVE — love of life, and love of other people. "Love of life" involves deriving enjoyment from a variety of things, rather than being prone to sinking into a rut. "Love of other people" involves an appreciation of the diverse spectrum of people in the world — different spiritual/religious paths, different races, different sexual identities, different gender identities, different hobbies, different modus operandi — VARIETY of LIFE and PEOPLE make the world go 'round! A compassionate man is a sexy man! I also appreciate men who are articulate and educated, comfortable with themselves, and are true to their hearts regardless of what society says. The ideal man will love me for the Goddess that I am, while allowing me to touch the God-energy that is in his heart.
What are five things that you "can't live without?"
my spirituality
my friends
diversity/variety in life
my drums, music, sacred sound
sex, in one form or another
