The archtype "Cat" usually calls to mind a creature that is reserved, quiet (for the most part), stealthy, cunning, fond of napping, and sometimes playful. These characteristics are common in all types of "cats," whether it is a leopard or a kittycat. On a personal level, I identify with these "Cat" energies. "Cat" is also a totem animal for me, as well, and friends often tell me that my personality is quite "Cat"-like in many ways. For instance, instead of bounding up to strangers at a party (as "Dog" would probably do), I will stand on the sidelines for a bit, sizing everyone up in Cat-like manner, deciding whom I might want to meet and whom I wish to avoid. Although I love spontaneity at times, I usually carefully plan everything in typical Cat-like manner. If I feel like napping, I do so, rather than scolding myself for all the things I "should" be doing. There are additional similarities, but I won't bore you by rattling on. I just wanted to explain why so many of my friends call me "Kitty" and why I refer to myself as "KittyGirl" here as much as I call myself the FairyWoman. Deep down inside, I AM the animal, the Cat, at all times. You may call me Kitty as many of my friends do, or call me by my name... I will *meow* just the same.
